Some people can write a Pulitzer Prize winning novel, others can paint a masterpiece, I create gardens.
I was born in England, but raised as a child in what was then the British West Indies before returning to England in my teens to go to school. I went on to marry and have a family.
Mid-life hit me early and I was determined to make more of my life. I went back to school, got a degree and teaching certificate, while raising my children and working on an old Victorian house and garden. During this time I spent several months touring in America and eventually moved with my children to Bellingham, Washington, beginning a more harmonious life. I created a secret garden around my home for the pleasure of being on garden tours.
I had found my passion; I became a professional eclectic landscape gardener with flair of Feng Shui.
Unlike most landscapers I work best designing gardens spontaneously rather than from a paper plan. I start with an idea that a customer has and develop from there a style that reflects the best for that individual garden.
Many of my gardens have won awards for floriferous content, stonework, and patios and taken part in local garden tours.

Jane,
I stumbled upon your site today and think it is wonderful.
I like that your landscaping is ecclectic and spontaneous…I hate the look of overly planned spaces. I always liked that when I walked through your yard it felt like I was on a journey.
Happy gardening!
Mary
Hi Jane,
Inspiring website, thank you! Was the autumn photo with bridge taken in Washington?
Greetings from Los Angeles,
Carley
Thanks for the website address, I have enjoyed catching up with you and look forward to talking flowers and gardens as well as other things shortly! I think the blog/site are great and hopefully you do too!
Pity our city garden is so small otherwise we would be landscaping over here!
